Manor ISD Hires Three New Principal Positions

Manor ISD hired three new principals Tuesday at a special called board meeting, including the promotion of two assistant principals to the role of principal.

Angel Deluna was hired as the principal at Bluebonnet Trail Elementary School. Mr. Deluna has been a member of the Manor ISD family since 2010, having served as assistant principal at Pioneer Crossing Elementary School from 2015-2017, as well as the associate principal at Decker Elementary School, Assistant Principal at Decker Middle School, and the boys’ athletic coordinator and coach at Decker Middle School. Mr. Deluna received his bachelor’s degree in health education from the University of Texas at Arlington and his master’s in administration from Lamar University.

Brandon Powell was hired as the principal at Decker Elementary School Tuesday. Ms. Powell has been with Manor ISD for 15 years, having served as an assistant principal at Manor High School since 2016. Before that, she served as an associate principal at Decker Elementary School, Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal at Decker Middle School, and an instructional coach at Pioneer Crossing Elementary, among other roles within the district. Ms. Powell received her bachelor’s degree from Texas State University in interdisciplinary studies and her master’s degree from Concordia University in educational administration.

New to Manor ISD is David Bittner, who will serve as principal at Manor Excel Academy. Mr. Bittner has worked as an assistant principal and teacher at several schools in North Carolina. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UNC Wilmington in English and school administration, respectively.
